Manage add-on (additional fee for option)
Overview
A price add-on lets you charge an extra fee when customers choose a specific option or value, for example gift wrapping (+$5) or a premium material.
Add-on types
For each option (or each value of an option) you choose one of two add-on types:

Which options can have an add-on
Where you set the add-on depends on the option type:

Set up an extra fee
Step 1: Open the option
In the option set editor, go to 1. Add options and click the option you want to add a fee to. Its settings open in the Content tab.
Step 2: Choose Extra fee and enter the price
Set Add-on to Extra fee, then enter the price:
- Options with a list of values - in the Option values table, choose Extra fee and type a price for each value in the Add-on column.
- Single-value options - in Option settings, choose Extra fee next to Add-on and type the price.
Step 3: Save and check on your store
- Click Save.
- Open the product page on your store and select the option. The extra fee is added to the price.
How customers see the extra fee
- On the product page - you choose when the price appears in Settings > General Settings > Option type setting > Add-on display:
- After selecting option values (default): the extra fee is shown once the customer selects the value.
- Next to option values: the extra fee is always shown next to each value.
- In the cart - the extra fee is shown next to the selected value, for example (+$5).
- At checkout - the extra fee appears with the text Selection extra fee for {{Product title}}. You can rename this text in Settings > Translation Texts > Default text customization > Checkout page.
- With Quantity - if the option uses Quantity, the fee is multiplied by the quantity the customer chooses (for example, 3 x $5 = $15).
Show the updated total price on the product page (optional)
To show the new total price on the product page while customers choose add-ons, install the advanced feature Show updated total price with add-ons. In the app, go to Advanced features, find the card and click Self-install (for dev), or click Contact us and we install it for you for free. See Show updated total price with add-ons.
