Set a Default Value for an Option Field

This feature lets you set a default value for an option, so it's automatically selected or filled in when customers view your product page.

Default values are available on the Advanced plan and above.

Where it is available:

• Options with a list of values - Dropdown menu, Dropdown with thumbnail, Checkbox, Radio button, Switch, Button and Swatch: use the Default column of the Option values table (see the steps below).
• Text options - Text box, Text area, Number field and Email: type the value in Default value (next to Placeholder text) in the option's Content tab.
• Font picker - choose the font in Default value.

Steps:

1. In the Option set, click on the element you want to adjust.
2. Under the Option values section, locate the specific value you want to set as default
3. Toggle on the switch in the Default column next to that option value
4. Click Save to finish.

Result: The default option will appear selected on your storefront page.
