[Others](/product-options/20-option-types/others) # Option Group An **Option Group** is a container that holds several options under one title. On the Free plan you can still try them on one live product with a Premium option set. See [Plans and feature availability](/product-options/getting-started/plans-and-features). ✨ [Demo store](https://optis-product-options-variant.myshopify.com/products/custom-backpack-option-group?_pos=1&_psq=option+group&_ss=e&_v=1.0) ## When to use an Option Group * Structure a long option set into clear sections. * Hide optional or advanced settings until the customer needs them. * Keep required, frequently used options open and visible by default. ## How Option Groups appear on the storefront ${frame}[](https://iframely.net/xUyX8f9B) ## How to add an Option Group ### Step 1: Create the group In **1. Add options**, click **Add group** (or **Add group after** from an option's menu). The group is added as **Untitled Group**, and its settings open in the editor panel with **Content** and **Display** tabs. ![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/e/8/4/5/e8459e9934324800/9db27ddc-4c02-4a6a-9a80-a876f8_15k4gyw.png) Groups can't be nested - you can't add a group inside another group. ### Step 2: Configure the group 1. It is shown on the product page as a clickable header. Recommended for required or frequently used options. * **Collapse** - the group is hidden by default; customers click the title to view the options. Recommended for optional or advanced settings. **Visibility (optional)** - show or hide the whole group based on another option, useful for revealing extra options only when needed. Click the back arrow at the top of the panel to finish ### Step 3: Add options to the group 1.
