[Others](/product-options/20-option-types/others) # File Upload A **File Upload** lets customers upload their own file directly on the product page - a photo, a logo, or another file for a personalized product. **Plan:** **File upload** is available on the **Advanced** plan and above. On the Free plan you can still try it on one live product with a Premium option set. See [Plans and feature availability](/product-options/getting-started/plans-and-features). ![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/e/4/a/f/e4afb6bb0870b800/30ef6501-85c1-42fb-9a32-d26aad_3u6pp7.png) ## When to use a File Upload * Custom products - artwork for personalized t-shirts, mugs, phone cases. * Print services - business cards, resumes, banners. * Design orders - personal images or brand logos for marketing materials. ## How to add a File Upload option ### Step 1: Add the option Open **1. See [How does Product Option SKU works?](/product-options/customize-design/how-does-product-option-sku-works). ![](https://docs.optis.me/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F1821185975-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252FRFiuDpHWm2HwzxPH4lfM%252Fuploads%252FD0FlN5bGNhmosEJWIBsm%252Ffileupload8.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3D1c024664-2bbe-41e6-ad28-cf967405ac45&width=768&dpr=3&quality=100&sign=dbf0447fb9d9b38bcfa725d9b10feafd&sv=3) ### File settings Control what customers can upload: * **Accepted file types** - **All files (any extension)**, **Images** (jpeg, jpg, png, svg, tiff, tif), **Documents** (pdf, doc, docx, html, htm, xls, xlsx, txt) or **Custom extensions** (type each extension in **Custom file extensions**). * **Max number of files** - up to **5** files on Advanced, up to **20** on Platinum and Unlimited. * **File size** - no size setting on the option itself; the maximum per file is **20 MB** on Advanced and **50 MB** on Platinum and Unlimited. Available on the **Advanced** plan and above. Note that a File upload option can be shown or hidden by other options, but it cannot be used to trigger another option's visibility. Available on the **Platinum** plan and above. Go to **Settings > General Settings > Option type setting > File upload display** and choose: * **1 file per row** (default) - a drag-and-drop area with **Choose file** and "Or drop file to upload"; each uploaded file is listed on its own row. * **Multiple files per row** - a **Choose file** button; uploaded files are shown side by side. You can rename the **Choose file** and drop-zone texts in **Settings > Translation Texts**.
